1. Introduction
Silo Software (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides software, websites, dashboards, API services, and related documentation (collectively, the Service). This sample Privacy Policy explains how documentation pages for legal content can be structured inside Mintlify. Where we refer to Personal Information, we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked to an individual. Depending on the processing context, we may act either as a controller or as a processor. Where we process data on behalf of business customers, those customers generally determine the purpose of processing and we process data according to their instructions. If the Service is accessed from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, additional disclosures may apply. See Annex 1. Our Terms of Service govern the use of the Service together with this Privacy Policy.2. Definitions
SERVICE means the websites, dashboards, APIs, and related infrastructure operated by Silo Software. USAGE DATA means data collected automatically when users access the Service, for example page visits, interaction events, diagnostics, and request metadata. COOKIES are small files stored on a device that help maintain sessions, preferences, security settings, and analytics state. USER means the individual using the Service, whether directly or on behalf of an organization. CUSTOMER END USER means an end user whose data may be processed through a customer’s use of the Service.3. Information Collection and Use
We may collect several categories of information in order to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service.4. Types of Data Collected
Personal Information While using the Service, users may provide Personal Information such as:- name, company, email address, and account credentials
- billing details, order metadata, and subscription information
- support messages, uploaded content, and administrative settings
- tracking, device, and usage information, including IP address where relevant
- keep users signed in and maintain sessions
- remember product preferences and documentation state
- monitor reliability, performance, and abuse patterns
- measure product usage and improve user experience
- Session Cookies to operate authenticated areas of the Service
- Preference Cookies to remember settings and UI state
- Security Cookies to help detect abuse and protect accounts
5. Use of Data
We may use collected data for the following purposes:- to provide, maintain, and secure the Service
- to authenticate users and manage accounts
- to process billing, renewals, and subscription events
- to provide support and respond to user requests
- to monitor usage, detect fraud, and resolve incidents
- to improve the Service, documentation, and developer experience
- to send product updates or service-related notices
6. Retention of Data
We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, and operational security. Usage Data is typically retained for shorter periods unless it is needed for:- service hardening
- fraud detection
- incident investigation
- legal or regulatory requirements
7. Disclosure of Information
We may disclose Personal Information in the following situations: (a) Service Providers We may share data with hosting providers, support tooling, analytics platforms, payment processors, and other vendors acting on our behalf and under appropriate contractual restrictions. (b) Corporate Transactions We may disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing transaction, sale of assets, or bankruptcy proceeding. (c) Legal Compliance We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or other lawful request, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of the Service and its users.8. Security of Information
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect Personal Information. These may include access controls, audit logging, encryption, network protections, and internal authorization controls. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.9. Payments
Where paid plans or services are offered, payments may be processed by third-party providers. We do not store full payment card details directly unless explicitly required for a supported workflow and handled by a compliant processor. For example, payment providers may process:- card and billing data
- transaction identifiers
- anti-fraud signals
10. Links to Other Sites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage users to review their policies separately.11. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children where prohibited by applicable law.12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
