#### 1. **Introduction**

Silo Software ("we", "us", or "our") provides software, websites, dashboards,
API services, and related documentation (collectively, the **Service**).

This sample Privacy Policy explains how documentation pages for legal content
can be structured inside Mintlify. Where we refer to **Personal Information**,
we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably
be linked to an individual.

Depending on the processing context, we may act either as a controller or as a
processor. Where we process data on behalf of business customers, those
customers generally determine the purpose of processing and we process data
according to their instructions.

If the Service is accessed from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the
United Kingdom, additional disclosures may apply. See [Annex 1](#annex-1).

Our [Terms of Service](/legal/terms) govern the use of the Service together
with this Privacy Policy.

#### **2. Definitions**

**SERVICE** means the websites, dashboards, APIs, and related infrastructure
operated by Silo Software.

**USAGE DATA** means data collected automatically when users access the Service,
for example page visits, interaction events, diagnostics, and request metadata.

**COOKIES** are small files stored on a device that help maintain sessions,
preferences, security settings, and analytics state.

**USER** means the individual using the Service, whether directly or on behalf
of an organization.

**CUSTOMER END USER** means an end user whose data may be processed through a
customer's use of the Service.

#### **3. Information Collection and Use**

We may collect several categories of information in order to operate, secure,
support, and improve the Service.

#### **4. Types of Data Collected**

**Personal Information**

While using the Service, users may provide Personal Information such as:

* name, company, email address, and account credentials
* billing details, order metadata, and subscription information
* support messages, uploaded content, and administrative settings
* tracking, device, and usage information, including IP address where relevant

We may use this information to provide service communications, process
transactions, respond to support inquiries, and improve the product experience.

**Usage Data**

We may automatically collect information such as browser type, operating system,
device identifiers, IP address, pages visited, timestamps, request logs, and
diagnostic events.

**Tracking Cookies Data**

We may use cookies and similar technologies to:

* keep users signed in and maintain sessions
* remember product preferences and documentation state
* monitor reliability, performance, and abuse patterns
* measure product usage and improve user experience

Examples of cookies used in this sample structure:

* **Session Cookies** to operate authenticated areas of the Service
* **Preference Cookies** to remember settings and UI state
* **Security Cookies** to help detect abuse and protect accounts

If users disable cookies, some features may not function correctly.

#### **5. Use of Data**

We may use collected data for the following purposes:

* to provide, maintain, and secure the Service
* to authenticate users and manage accounts
* to process billing, renewals, and subscription events
* to provide support and respond to user requests
* to monitor usage, detect fraud, and resolve incidents
* to improve the Service, documentation, and developer experience
* to send product updates or service-related notices

#### **6. Retention of Data**

We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary for the purposes
described in this Privacy Policy, including compliance, dispute resolution,
enforcement of agreements, and operational security.

Usage Data is typically retained for shorter periods unless it is needed for:

* service hardening
* fraud detection
* incident investigation
* legal or regulatory requirements

#### **7. Disclosure of Information**

We may disclose Personal Information in the following situations:

**(a) Service Providers**

We may share data with hosting providers, support tooling, analytics platforms,
payment processors, and other vendors acting on our behalf and under
appropriate contractual restrictions.

**(b) Corporate Transactions**

We may disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition,
reorganization, financing transaction, sale of assets, or bankruptcy
proceeding.

**(c) Legal Compliance**

We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or other lawful
request, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or
integrity of the Service and its users.

#### **8. Security of Information**

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect Personal
Information. These may include access controls, audit logging, encryption,
network protections, and internal authorization controls.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is
fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

#### **9. Payments**

Where paid plans or services are offered, payments may be processed by
third-party providers. We do not store full payment card details directly
unless explicitly required for a supported workflow and handled by a compliant
processor.

For example, payment providers may process:

* card and billing data
* transaction identifiers
* anti-fraud signals

Personal Information from children where prohibited by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update
the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide
additional notice.
